An awesome webapp takes all the rolling, headaches and confusion out of Lamentations of the Flame Princess’ most infamous spell. Maybe this removes some of the fun of rolling up the hellspawn, but the process of the spell is so incredibly complicated and confusing that I’m willing to make the sacrifice to get to the good stuff.

More Games I Would Totally Run

Blackwing: A modern supernatural game that re-imagines my quest giving baron as a shadowy hacker. Would be played both at the table and through ARG-style tweets/links/text messages.

DC Heroes: Illuminati: The Justice League pitted against a mysterious enemy who seems to be two steps ahead of them at all times.

Looks like Pat Robinson still has an ax to grind with Dungeons and Dragons. Either that or his knowledge of the gaming world is locked in the mid-Eighties. I presume that the viewer is asking about a video game like Skyrim, but Pat still equates magic and gaming with D&D.

A lot of people are posting this in irritation,   as irrational and outdated persecution of their favorite hobby, but I really don’t mind. I grew up surrounded by anti-D&D fear mongering and it had only one effect on me: it made me really want to play.

Tabletop roleplaying could use a more dangerous image. Currently the stereotype around gaming is that it is something trivial that only geeks do. Bring in some of that sexy, soul-stealing danger and RPGs might actually see some decent popularity again.

I remember this ad in comic books when I was a kid. It definitely did it’s job in making me want to play. When I purchased the 4e beginner’s box, it was mostly because it used this artwork. When I traded my 4e stuff, I considered keeping the box just for this art.
I’m nostalgic for a barbarian’s butt.

Games I Totally Would Run

Marine Space: It’s Warhammer 40K but in a steampunk world where all the crazy shit is happening under the ocean rather than outer space.

Lamentations of the Munchkin Princess: By-the-book LotFP but with monsters and treasure from the Munchkin card game. Bullshit would be a main game mechanic.

Savage Nephilim: The awesome 90s occult RPG Nephilim converted into Savage Worlds.

Fear Me: An episodic supernatural game in which the big bad is the vague demonic entities of r/fearme. Would be legitimately terrifying.

Final Fantasy I: This may require building a game system to run it in, but I’d love to run a game that emulates the feel of the very first Final Fantasy game. I have no idea why.
